The funny thing about writing is that whether you’re doing well or doing it poorly, it looks the exact same. That’s actually one of the main ways that writing is different from ballet dancing.

– John Green

The idea is to write it so people hear it and it slides through the brain and goes straight to the heart.

The First Ever Tango. Common Application Boot Camp

Ready.  Set.  Apply!

It’s Common App time!!!! Excited? No? Well, you should be. The Common Application is the first step to an amazing college experience. More than 500 colleges now accept the Common Application which means once it’s filled out, you are well on your way.

But, wait! What about the horror stories from last year? Bet you heard about the missing data! The lost payment information! The last minute crashes that lead thousands of students across the country to decide a career in fast food was far preferable to facing down another Common Application Data Field! Isn’t the Common Application a secret plan to keep students like you from EVER GOING TO COLLEGE?

Step away from the conspiracy theory. At tango., we know our way around the Common Application. And after an afternoon of forms and frolic*, we promise, you will, too. Bring a laptop and a few notes, and you may be surprised how much fun it is to explain your time in the Math-olympiad-origami-anime-afterschool-ninja-activities club.** Join us for a day of data and deadlines and despair dazzling displays of activity description and we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to be a stand out applicant. Really. What are you waiting for?
*Frolic in this case means music and pizza.  And PRIZES.  Did I mention there would be prizes?  There will definitely be prizes!

**Of course, the fun may have more to do with the pizza and music than it does with the form itself. Just sayin’.

The main thing I’ve learned is that we all have to work with and appreciate the brain we’ve been given and not waste time wishing it were easier.
